Event information

STEPUK At the peak

The fundraising event saw 12 participants take part, all but one being medical students at a variety of stages of their Leicester medical degrees. On August 20-22, they travelled to Wales to climb Mount Snowdon, before heading north to Cumbria to conquer Scafell Pike, and finally arriving in Scotland to climb the formidable Ben Nevis – and all in only two days!

Despite being varying standards of walking ability they managed to stick together during this gruelling expedition and RoSPA is honoured that they did so in the name of saving lives and reducing injuries. All the money raised will help sustain RoSPA's tireless work in reducing the number of accidents and fatalities in the areas of child safety, home safety, leisure safety, occupational safety and road safety.

Three Peaks organiser, James Leaver, said: "This is a great opportunity for students to raise awareness and support for RoSPA, because in the field of trauma and emergency care, prevention is by far the best medicine."
