The annual RoSPA Awards are a key fixture in the health and safety calendar. They offer organisations a prime opportunity to prove their ongoing commitment to raising health and safety standards.

The scheme, started in 1956, is one of the longest-running and most highly-respected occupational award programmes. Entry submissions are judged impartially on merit, and with no Members-only restriction the RoSPA Awards are open to organisations of all sizes from across the wide spectrum of industries and all over the world.

The scheme comprises three categories - Achievement Awards, Industry Sector Awards, and Specialist Awards.

Important Dates

The RoSPA Awards are launched every October, with the deadline for entries being mid-February. Presentation ceremonies take place in May at the Birmingham Hilton Metropole, and in September in Glasgow. To find out about the 2013 Awards register your interest at awards@rospa.com.

Venue

Winners will receive their awards at glittering presentation ceremonies and gala dinners at the Hilton Metropole Birmingham in May (alongside the Safety and Health Expo) or in Glasgow in September.

Any number of guests are welcome to attend, allowing all who have contributed to the organisation's success to share the recognition.

The Birmingham Hilton Metropole is located just 10 minutes from Birmingham International Airport, on the NEC site complex. The newly-refurbished hotel is one of the UK's largest conference hotels, and boasts excellent transport links.

RoSPA Awards Gala Dinners are rightly regarded as the ultimate celebration of health and safety management excellence.

The Awards celebrations climax with the prestigious RoSPA Awards Gala Dinners, which are rightly regarded as the ultimate celebration of health and safety management excellence.

Major award winners receive their awards at gala dinners, and were joined in 2012 by around 3,500 guests over four nights, as well as important guests from across the world of safety - from industry and from government. The events are truly international affairs, with award winners and guests representing organisations not just from the UK, but from around the world.

After-dinner entertainment is provided by top comedians, Jimmy Carr, John Bishop, Ed Byrne and Jon Culshaw have all entertained over the years, followed by live music and dancing.
