Occupational Health & Safety Awards
The annual RoSPA Awards are a key fixture in the health and safety calendar. They offer organisations a prime opportunity to prove their ongoing commitment to raising health and safety standards.
The scheme, started in 1956, is one of the longest-running and most highly-respected occupational award programmes. Entry submissions are judged impartially on merit, and with no Members-only restriction the RoSPA Awards are open to organisations of all sizes from across the wide spectrum of industries and all over the world.
The scheme comprises three categories - Achievement Awards, Industry Sector Awards, and Specialist Awards.
Winning organisations benefit from:

- Recognition from customers, suppliers, peers and competitors
- Increased staff motivation and participation in improving health and safety

- Enhanced company profile when seeking repeat or new business opportunities
The threat of prosecution under corporate manslaughter laws and other changes to legislation make it more important than ever for organisations to be able to demonstrate that they are on top of health and safety, with well-established policies and practices.
Having a unique selling point such as being a RoSPA award winner can make a real difference when it comes to seeking new business, and can help to ensure that organisations retain existing business, particularly in difficult economic times.
The RoSPA Awards are launched every October, with the deadline for entries being mid-February. Presentation ceremonies take place in May at the Birmingham Hilton Metropole, and in September in Glasgow. To find out about the 2013 Awards register your interest at email@example.com.

The Birmingham Hilton Metropole is located just 10 minutes from Birmingham International Airport, on the NEC site complex. The newly-refurbished hotel is one of the UK's largest conference hotels, and boasts excellent transport links.
