Theresa Budworth

Chair: Teresa Budworth, Chief Executive, NEBOSH

Teresa Budworth is a Chartered Fellow of IOSH and a Chartered Director. During a 34 year career in health and safety, she has specialised in consultancy, education and training which culminated in her appointment as Chief Executive of NEBOSH in 2006.

She is a Visiting Senior Teaching Fellow at the University of Warwick's Medical School, and Vice Chairman of the Board of OSHCR Ltd,

Dee Arp

Dee Arp, Standards Manager, NEBOSH

Dee Arp is a Chartered Safety and Health Practitioner of IOSH and has had a long and varied career in the field of health and safety.

Dee is currently Director of Technical Standards for the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health and has a wealth of experience both as trainer and delegate for NEBOSH assessments. Dee has also had an active role as an examiner, so she has a balanced view of the delegate / provider / examiner cycle.

Richard Ash

Richard Ash, SHE Manager, Engineering Construction Industry Association (ECIA)

Richard Ash represents ECIA on HSE's Construction Industry Advisory Committee and also chairs the industry's CCNSG health and safety passport committee. He came to ECIA with the benefit of a long career as an HSE inspector, including much time in their construction sector developing and implementing construction guidance and regulations.

Richard Booth

Professor Richard Booth, Emeritus Professor, Aston University

Richard Booth FIMechE, CEng and CFIOSH, is Professor Emeritus of Occupational Safety and Health and Director of the Health and Safety Unit, Aston University which he joined in 1972. He has published about 150 scientific papers, articles and book chapters and presented in 17 countries world-wide. His team at Aston provided training for HSE Inspectors in safety management for many years and also drafted BS8800 which was subsequently developed into BS-OHSAS18001 and 18004.

Richard was a founder-Chairman of NEBOSH and President of IOSH from 1986-1988 and continues to be active in a range of safety bodies. He has conducted research in many major hazard industry sectors and has 30 years' expert witness experience, including the Buncefield and Port Talbot steelworks explosion cases.

Alan Brandwood

Alan Brandwood - Immediate Past-Chair, Nuclear Industry Safety Directors Forum

Alan Brandwood has 44 years' industrial experience, the majority of which has been spent in the fields of environment, health, safety, security, environment, quality, operations and HR. Most of his experience has been in the Nuclear Industry and has covered the full scope of operations including electricity generation, reprocessing, construction, demolition and the stewardship of nuclear weapons.

Kevin Clinton

Kevin Clinton, Head of Road Safety, RoSPA

Kevin is responsible for developing, managing and promoting RoSPA's road safety policies, products and services, including its driver and motorcyclist training courses.

Kevin represents RoSPA on many national road safety working groups, as well as various project working Groups. He is Secretary to RoSPA's National Road Safety Committee. He has given evidence to several parliamentary inquiries conducted by select committees, including inquiries into road safety, novice drivers, motorcycling, sentencing policy, drink driving and mobility scooters.

John Corden

John Corden, Head of Health & Safety, Southern Water

John is a founder member of the WaterUK Occupational Health and Safety Group; he is the water industry representative on the CBI National H&S Panel; a member of the National Water Safety Forum's Inland Water and Information Groups; and a judge for RoSPA's annual Occupational Health & Safety Awards.

John was a founder member of the HSE's innovative South-East Stakeholder Forum and is a board member with the HSE of the national Estates Excellence initiative. He was also founder member of the IOSH South Downs branch and is a Chartered Member of IOSH.

Christina Doherty

Christina Doherty, Health and Safety Manager, RedSpeed International

Christina has been an occupational health and safety professional for over 16 years and worked in both the public and private sectors developing and advising on management and audit systems, proportionate legislation application, incorporating considerations connected to worker behaviour, and Client assurance work. Her extensive core experience includes all disciplines of construction, estates/facility management, as well as developing and delivering policy across the wide spectrum of the education sector.

Adrian Hirst

Adrian Hirst, Occupational Hygiene Consultant and Senior Lecturer in Occupational Hygiene, University of Manchester

Adrian Hirst is a Chartered Fellow of the Faculty of Occupational Hygiene and a Chartered Member of IOSH. He is also the honorary treasurer for the British Occupational Hygiene Society.

Bud Hudspith

Bud Hudspith, Health & Safety Adviser, Unite

Bud Hudspith has been dealing with trade union health and safety issues for over 30 years. His job is to represent Unite at various levels and provide information, advice and guidance to Unite Officials and Safety Representatives. This involves visiting workplaces and representing members in discussions with employers, as well as sitting on various committees.

Greg Irons

Dr Greg Irons, Specialist Occupational Physician

Dr Greg Irons is the Principal Occupational Health Physician for Optima Health. He has over 20 years’ experience in Occupational Health, having begun his career in 1995 providing Offshore Occupational Health medical services to oil majors in the North Sea. Greg has a history of development and delivery of occupational health operations in challenging environments and locations. He has lived and worked internationally and with a diverse range of clients including oil and gas, utilities, local government, manufacturing and sales.

Chris Jones

Chris Jones, Director of Risk Management and Compliance, Cory Environmental

Chris Jones has worked in the waste industry for the last 25 years advising on and managing health, safety, welfare, quality, environmental and transport issues.

Paul Kerridge

Paul Kerridge, SHE&Q Director, Morrison Utility Services (MUS)

Paul joined MUS as Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Director in 2007. Since then, he has been responsible for driving the business to work safer and has achieved many awards for innovation and commitment to safety. Paul previously worked as Head of HSE&Q for Balfour Beatty on the Metronet project - an Alliance between Thames Water, Atkins, EDF and Balfour Beatty, having prior to that been an Area Safety Manager on Roads and Structures with AMEC.

Paul represents the Utilities sector on numerous leadership teams and steering groups.

Neil Lennox

Neil Lennox – Head of Safety, Sainsbury's Supermarkets

In 2014 Neil took over as Chair of the CBI Health & Safety panel and he represents CBI on the RoSPA Awards adjudication panel.

Neil has worked in the health and safety field for the past 16 years, for Air Products & Chemicals, British Airways and British Gas, before joining Sainsbury's, where he is currently Head of Safety for Sainsbury's Supermarkets. He is a Chartered Member of IOSH and a Fellow of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers.

Mike Leppard

Mike Leppard, SHE Adviser, Energy Networks Association

Mike Leppard joined the Energy Networks Association (ENA) in 2008 as a SHE Adviser, and is responsible for supporting the network companies' work on safety, health and environmental issues developing a sector wide approach where appropriate.

Prior to joining ENA Mike worked for the HSE as part of the Utility Policy team, focussing on electricity and gas safety issues. His background is in the chemical industry and he was employed for a number of years at a resin manufacturing company in a variety of production related roles.

Darren Male

Darren Male, Director, The QUENSH Consultancy Limited

Chair of the International Dilmun Environmental Award panel, Darren is a Fellow of IEMA, Chartered Safety Practitioner and Chartered Environmentalist.

He is Director of The QUENSH Consultancy Limited, and was an advisor to Envirowise and the Environment Agency and has run several small business environmental engagement schemes.

Adrian Murphy

Dr Adrian Murphy, Director, International Synergies Limited

Adrian is one of the founding members of International Synergies. He is responsible for all of the technical and innovation issues within the business encompassing R&D and business development.

A Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, the Institute of Quality Assurance, and the Institute of Environment Management and Assessment, Adrian is also a registered Principal Environmental Auditor and a Lead Auditor with the International Register of Certified Auditors. He is also a trained practitioner of the six-sigma quality approach, and a qualified Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor and Technical Safety Practitioner.

Graham Parker

Graham Parker, President, IOSH

For over 19 years, Graham has been a safety practitioner and actively involved within IOSH. In 2011, he was elected to IOSH Council, having previously been involved with the Networks Conference Members Advisory Panel, and chairing the judging panel of the IOSH National Film and Television School Award. Graham continues to represent IOSH on the RoSPA Sir George Earle Awards Panel and was recently appointed to the IOSH Nominations Committee.

Graham currently works for a major real estate company and has a background in logistics, aviation, real estate, facilities management, and general health and safety management.

Yasser Al Abbasi

Yasser A. Al Abbasi, Plants Operation Manager, Gulf Petrochemical Industries Co. (GPIC)

Yasser is a Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council of Occupational Safety and Health of the Ministry of Labor of the Kingdom of Bahrain, a Board Member of the Bahrain Health and Safety Society. He also serves as a judge for the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA's) International Dilmun Environment Award, as well as an Assessor for the National Safety Council's Robert W. Campbell (RWC) Awards since 2009.

Paul Reeve

Paul Reeve, Director of Business Services, Electrical Contractors' Association.

Paul Reeve is Head of Business Policy and Practice at the Electrical Contractors' Association, a leading building services trade association. His remit covers membership services, representation, and stakeholder interactions on topics including commercial and contractual, health and safety, training, sustainability and energy solutions.

Paul is a Chartered Fellow of IOSH and in 2002 was awarded the RoSPA Distinguished Service Award.

Steve Sumner

Steve Sumner OBE, Director, Steve Sumner Associates Ltd

Steve Sumner originally trained as an Environmental Health Officer, but made the move into health and safety very early in his career, firstly as a Local Government health and safety inspector, and finally in a senior national policy development role with the Local Government Association.

He was awarded the OBE, the RoSPA Distinguished Service Award and IOSH outstanding contribution to health and safety in the public sector.

Barry Wilkes

Barry Wilkes, Development Manager, NEBOSH

Barry is an experienced health and safety practitioner, project developer/manager and management systems auditor. He has over 20 years' experience in health, safety and environmental management and became a Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health in 1997.

Having joined NEBOSH in 2005, Barry's role is to develop new qualifications and services and to support the Chief Executive as part of the management team in delivering the NEBOSH business strategy.

Rick Wood

Rick Wood, Head of Driver Training, RoSPA

Rick has been working in the field of driver training for over 25 years. Rick has a RoSPA Diploma in Advanced Driving Instruction and is a Grade 6 Department of Transport Fleet Registered ADI.

Ben Vivian

Dr Ben Vivian, Director, Vivian Partnership

Dr Ben Vivian is a Fellow of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment and has more than 20 years' experience in the sustainability arena. He has worked in a range of roles, in research, in-company, as a consultant, verifier and management systems auditor. Ben has delivered training and coached professionals on five continents. He now runs Vivian Partnership Ltd with his brother Dan - with a purpose of uncovering sustainability potential in organisations.
