Driver Development Intro
This course aims to develop a safe and systematic approach to minimising risk in the driving environment and to promote an introductory understanding of the principles of defensive driving.
The course is ideal as an opportunity to sample elements of the full driver development course and is a good training needs analysis but should not be seen as an alternative to the more comprehensive course.
Course Summary
This course is available in a range of vehicle types and can facilitate up to six delegates. The course includes:
- Practical driving/riding session
- The principles of defensive driving
- Risk assessment approach to driving hazards
- How to reduce crash risk

Who should attend?
Anyone who drives for work purposes requiring an introduction to defensive driving techniques. All delegates should be familiar with the latest edition of the Highway Code.
Please note: Drivers will not receive a drivers report or certificate.

Course objectives
The aim of this course is to develop a safe and systematic approach to minimising risk in the driving environment and to promote understanding of the principles of defensive driving.
This course is ideal as an opportunity to sample elements of the full driver development course and is a good training needs analysis but should not be seen as an alternative to the more comprehensive course.
Who should attend?
The course is aimed at anyone who drives for work requiring an introduction to defensive driving techniques.
All delegates should be familiar with the latest edition of the Highway Code.

This course is available in a range of vehicle types.
Typical timings are:
- Delegate 1 – 09:00 to 10;10
- Delegate 2 – 10:10 to 11:20
- Delegate 3 – 11:20 to 12:30
- Delegate 4 – 13:00 to 14:10
- Delegate 5 – 14:10 to 15:20
- Delegate 6 – 15:20 to 16:30
This course is NOT an alternative to a full Driver Development Course, but is an opportunity to sample the elements of it.
Note: There are no Driver Reports or Certificates available with this product
