What is involved
This interactive online training package is designed to help drivers develop the attitude and behaviours necessary to manage today’s driving situations in the safest way. Split into 5 modules, this programme covers risks on the road, the system of car control, driving defensively, factors affecting driving and vehicle technology.
This newly developed product uses a variety of learning methods for the driver to choose from, ensuring that they make the most out of their training experience. There are also knowledge tests spread throughout the training, to ensure that the learner has fully understood the content. The Driver must pass these to move onto the next stage, meaning by the end of the programme they will have successfully completed all tests. The system also uses interactive activities to highlight the most important information and includes the Driving for Work DVD to support the learning process.
Modules can be completed in one sitting (in approximately 90 minutes) or over a longer period (recommended). Following completion of the modules participants receive a RoSPA certificate.
What are the benefits?
Online Defensive Driver Training offers fleet managers an additional training tool, which can be used as a preliminary measure to establish where in-vehicle training resources could be most effectively employed, or as refresher training for those who have already benefited from in-vehicle training. The course is convenient and relatively quick to complete, so time away from core duties is reduced.
Whilst this course is available as a standalone product it is also perfect for those drivers who are considered a medium risk.
