This course is tailored to the type of vehicle in which the delegate intends to conduct assessments, making it appropriate for all vehicle types.

- Half-day classroom presentation on the principles of defensive driving
- Vehicle inspection – demonstration and assessment drives

- Continuous assessment and development of driving skill

Who should attend?
Car, minibus and LGV drivers identified as capable of conducting assessments and with a proven defensive driving ability, usually following a RoSPA driver development course.
Please note, this course does not qualify an assessor to deliver driver training in cars and light vans unless the delegate is registered with the Driving Standards Agency as an Approved Driving Instructor (Cat B).

Course objectives
This course aims to teach delegates the necessary skills to assess other drivers’ abilities within their organisation. It will train delegates to become advanced drivers.
Upon completion of this course, delegates should be competent in the following areas:
- Fault recognition
- Fault analysis
- Approach and manner
- Communication skills
- Control of session
- Feedback
Who should attend?
Drivers identified as capable of conducting assessments.
Additional information
Delegates will take the RoSPA Occupational Advanced Driving Test on the final day of this course.
A thorough knowledge of Roadcraft and the latest edition of The Highway Code is expected.
The course runs on a 3:1 delegate to trainer ratio and is available in a variety of vehicle types.
This course is also available as a Driver CPC option.
CPC Drivers must bring BOTH parts of their driving licence to the course. Drivers with the old style licence must bring this along with photo ID.
