Is specific training required for use of razor deck working platforms? Do they fall under the same seven-day inspection period as mobile scaffolds?

From the description in The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998, the above equipment comes under “mobile elevating work platform”.

Training would depend on the type of razor deck working platform it is. If it does not have a motor or a battery you will not need IPAF training and you will not need PASMA training because it is not component based like a regular tower. You may wish to contact the manufacturer who will advise you on the type of training required to operate this type of equipment.

With regards to inspections, we would recommend the seven-day inspection especially if the equipment is used on a regular basis and used in all weathers.
