Screen resolution

Average Screen Resolutions

  • 14-15" Monitor 1024 x 768
  • 17-19" Monitor 1280 x 1024
  • 20-23" Monitor 1600 x 1200
  • 24" + Monitor 1200x x 1900

Widescreen Monitors

  • 17-18" Widescreen 1280 x 800
  • 19" Widescreen 1440 x 900
  • 20-23" Widescreen 1680 x 1050
  • 24-29" Widescreen 1920 x 1200

Screen Resolution

The average size of monitors has risen over the years, and the RoSPA site is now built to fit a screen resolution of 1024 x 768 and above.

If you can't see the whole page from left to right inside a maximised window, then you may be using a smaller screen resolution.

You can see more of a page with a higher screen resolution, reference the sidebar to the right to find your ideal resolution, and then change it using the process below, depending on your operating system.

Resolution settings in Windows XP:

  • Right click in an empty space on your desktop
  • Click Properties
  • Click the Settings tab
  • Move the Screen Resolution slider till the counter shows 1024 x 768 or greater.
  • Press Apply and OK

Resolution settings in Windows Vista:

  • Right click in an empty space on your desktop
  • Click Personalise
  • Click Display Settings
  • Move the Screen Resolution slider till the counter shows 1024 x 768 or greater.
  • Press Apply and OK

Resolution settings in Windows 7:

  • Right click in an empty space on your desktop
  • Click Screen Resolution
  • Choose a resolution from the dropdown menu
  • Press Apply and OK

Resolution settings in Mac OSX:

  • Go to System preferences
  • Go to Display
  • Go to the Display tab
  • Choose a resolution from the dropdown menu
