Ita McErlean

Ita is Home Safety Manager (Northern Ireland).

Main areas of work include:

  • Providing information in response to incoming inquiries
  • Training
  • Presentations
  • Organising local seminars/workshops
  • Coordinating safety campaigns and specific projects
  • Lobbying for improved injury data collection and dissemination
  • Consultation on strategy development and implementation
  • The facilitation of multi-agency working groups
  • Fundraising for project resources
  • Presence at key exhibitions
  • Secretariat and strategic guidance of Home Accident Prevention volunteers (HAP NI).

Danielle Stirling

Danielle is a Home Safety Officer (Northern Ireland).

She graduated in December 2008 with a degree in ICT (Information Communication Technology).

Main areas of work include:

  • To provide administrative and operational support as directed by the Home Safety Manager (NI)
  • Responding to requests for information, ensuring the Belfast office is open from 9.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday
  • Welcoming visitors to RoSPA’s Belfast office
  • Participating in events including taking and issuing the minutes/actions agreed of selected meetings
  • Undertaking any other duties as appropriate to meet objectives in RoSPA NI operational plan
  • Ensuring that health, safety and environmental risks are adequately assessed and controlled in respect of job.

Colin Wallace

Colin is Training Development Officer (Northern Ireland)

Colin's role within the Northern Ireland office is:

  • To identify and develop training needs of safety practitioners within the community, voluntary, statutory, public and private sector
  • To develop and deliver appropriate consultancy to clients in line with objectives agreed with the home safety manager of RoSPA, Northern Ireland
  • To research and evaluate the effectiveness of home safety programmes to provide valuable evidence-based information for future development
  • To identify, develop and maintain monitoring and evaluation methods in line with organisational objectives
  • To be involved in specific projects with RoSPA staff and external bodies, which will support training/consultancy as directed by the home safety manager.
