Jan Holdaway, RoSPA Home Safety Manager for Wales, said: “We hope that schools will take up the issues in this resource, and make children aware of the different aspects of home safety. “In the UK around a million children under the age of 15 go to hospital each year as a result of an accident in the home. Whatever can be done to educate pupils to help reduce this number should be welcomed, and we hope that now the framework is in Welsh it will be used by a wider audience.” The curriculum has been developed and translated with the support of the Welsh Assembly and the Department of Trade and Industry. |
