RoSPA Press Office : Press ReleaseJanuary 13, 2006 RoSPA puts work-related road safety back in the spotlight on February 22 with a new seminar on managing occupational road risk. The event, sponsored by Toyota GB, will be held at Holywell Park, Loughborough University, and tackles the problem of practical risk management. Charles Davis, Head of Driver and Fleet Solutions for the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents said: “Employers have clear duties under health and safety law to manage at-work road risk as a mainstream health and safety issue. “All organisations with employees who drive as part of their job are expected to have a systematic approach to dealing with this question, as driving is the most dangerous work activity that most people undertake. “Our seminar will not only highlight the legal, safety and business cases for action it will also address the practical problems such as risk management, working with insurers, alcohol and drugs policies and the role of the police in investigating work-related road accidents. “This is a great opportunity to hear the arguments for action, exchange experiences and obtain practical advice on how to move forward.” For details, see www.rospa.com/morr/seminar or ring 0121 248 2120. |
