LOOKING FOR SUCCESSFUL INJURY PREVENTION PARTNERS

RoSPA is seeking to celebrate schemes which have proved successful in preventing injuries in the home thanks to organisations working in partnership.

The Society is looking for speakers for its National Home Safety Congress in November so that they can share their ideas and make a real impact on preventing home accidents.

The importance of partnership working has been stressed by government departments in the last year and several major reports have called for more cohesive and robust infrastructures to help achieve targets.

Dawn Dcaccia, RoSPA Head of Home Safety, said: “This has become a growing theme both here and in Europe. Our congress will be presenting outstanding examples of effective partnership working and their impact on the national agenda.

“This will be a showcase for success. It will provide an ideal opportunity for speakers to promote what they have done and give others the opportunity to take their work even further.

“There will also be a programme of workshops and exhibitions on a wide range of subjects.”

Topics are likely to include:

· Negotiating Equitable Partnerships
· Rolling out Good Practice
· Effective Methods of Evaluating Home Safety Activities
· Exploring Methods of Collecting and Disseminating Data
· Maximising Joint Funding Opportunities

Safety practitioners willing to share ideas and successes by making a presentation at RoSPA’s National Home Safety Congress in Cheltenham, November 12-13, should submit an abstract of about 500 words by May 4, 2007.

One presenter for each paper which is accepted will be entitled to attend the congress free of charge. This includes accommodation and travelling expenses.

Abstracts should be sent to: Dawn Dcaccia, Head of Home Safety UK, RoSPA, 353 Bristol Road, Birmingham, B5 7ST.
