We All Fall Down
We All Fall DownRoSPA joined forces with Replay Productions to try to reduce accidental falls in the home using drama to raise awareness, improve knowledge and change behaviour.

The drama targeted the most vulnerable audience in terms of accidental falls, particularly in areas of deprivation, the under 5’s. In order to best target this age group, the drama was aimed at 3-6 year olds and also some teachers and parents by default. Key messages were supported by a specially designed board-game to be played by children with their parents at home. The drama toured play groups, mother & toddler groups, and primary schools across Northern Ireland over a 6 week period in 2005 reaching over 3,000 children.

The key messages form the drama were:

  • Baby Bouncers – keep them on the floor, never on a raised surface
  • High Chairs – always secure the child into the high chair with the safety harness
  • Stairs – securely fix stair gates, preferably at the top and the bottom of the stairs and always use them
  • Windows – fit window restrictor bars to stop children from falling out
