Experiential Learning Seminar, Fitzwilliam International Hotel, 6th November 2002

Learning About Safety through Experiencing Risk (LASER)This seminar was aimed at those who organise, take part in or have an interest in Experiential Learning Schemes such as “Streetsmart”, “Homesafe”, “Be Safe” etc. This included Voluntary Groups, Statutory Agencies, Health Promotion Officers, Environmental Health Officers, Education Advisors, Road Safety Education Officers, Health and Safety Officers and the Emergency Services.

The aim of the seminar was:

  • to examine what is currently happening in Northern Ireland
  • to highlight LASER research findings
  • a chance for organisers to get together to exchange information on local schemes

RoSPA have also recently undertaken an audit of local schemes (Click here to download this document in PDF format. PDF format 55kb) and the results were presented at the seminar.

The RoSPA Good Practice Guidelines for LASER schemes have now been published.
