Travellers Home Safety Zone (2002 - 2003)Travellers Home Safety Zone (2002 - 2003)
The ‘Travellers Home Safety Zone’ project targeted accident prevention in the traveling community as a high risk group with housing and literacy problems. The project focused on the key safety messages associated with burns and scalds in children.

The Travellers Home Safety Zone was piloted in North and West Belfast and Omagh, with the full involvement of the travelling community, and then extended to all Northern Ireland sites.

The project aimed to target at least 1,700 travellers in Northern Ireland with culturally specific resources, and to make links within communities over the border.
