Influencing the OS&H agenda
Partners in Progress was a RoSPA initiative which aimed to involve higher performing organisations amongst its membership to help shape the occupational safety and health agenda.
'Partners in Progress' (PIP) was launched in September 2002 by RoSPA's then President Lord Faulkner of Worcester and was designed to encourage higher performing organisations, drawn from among RoSPA winners and ‘commendeds’ in the RoSPA Sector Awards, to provide financial and other forms of assistance to help the Society carry forward its ‘key issue’ work.
RoSPA received commitment and financial support and support in kind from: Foster Wheeler Energy; British Sugar; Costain Oil, Gas and Process; BNFL; Innogy; National Semiconductor UK Ltd; Southern Electric Contracting and Taylor Woodrow
By working in co-operation with these higher performers who were firmly dedicated to health and safety, RoSPA was able to make an important difference in reducing injuries and ill health at work. The ‘Partner’ organisations, which shared the Society’s Occupational Safety & Health vision and values, helped to distil and disseminate good practice experience to help save lives, safeguard health and cut cost.
