'For business-by-business' ;
The SCDI (The Scottish Council for Development and Industry) in conjunction with PHASS and funding from the Scottish Government delivered a series of seminars across Scotland during May 2007.

The events targeted small firms, with the key aims to help them:

  • boost business profitability and competitiveness through sensible health and safety
  • increase their understanding of health and safety legislation and best practice
  • learn about practical solutions they can apply to their business through case study presentations
  • and to find out about the public and private sector support and expertise


Susan Elston, Regional Director Aramark Limited Offshore delivered a paper on

'The importance of Safety leadership'

'Practical Health and Safety through Integration'

Signatories to the challenge commit to communicating with each other and other health and safety system players within Scotland on steps they are taking to reach out to influence others, to agree common approaches to common themes and to report periodically to each other and the new Partnership on Health and Safety in Scotland with regard to progress.
