Course objectives:
To provide delegates with an introduction to carrying out a health and safety audit, and equip them to do so effectively.

Organisations will be able to carry out their own audits in-house, with a consistent standard of internal auditing.

At the end of the course delegates will:

  • Understand the nature and purpose of audits
  • Have information on relevant standards and management models
  • Have a detailed knowledge of HSG65
  • Understand the principles of auditing
  • Have guidance on the planning and execution of an effective health and safety management system audit
  • Be able to demonstrate their understanding of the issues covered by the training course.

Who should attend?
This health and safety training course is suitable for anyone wishing to carry out health and safety management system audits within their organisation.

Further information:
Delegates should be familiar with HSG65 and BS EN ISO 19011:2002. They should also have a good grounding in health and safety, to a minimum standard of the NEBOSH National General Certificate in Health and Safety (or equivalent).

Delegates should bring copies of HSG65; BS EN ISO 19011:2002 will be provided. The course concludes with a short closed book examination to test delegates’ understanding.
