According to HSE statistics, 46 workers suffered a fatal injury involving workplace transport, in 2010/11. A workplace transport injury is also likely to be fatal, with over a quarter of fatal injuries to workers involving workplace transport.

This occupational safety training course is delivered at your premises, meaning that it can be tailored to your specific circumstances, addressing any problems your organisation faces in this area.

Here is a brief summary of the course content:

Aims and objectives:

To develop delegates' understanding of the issues involved in the effective management of workplace transport
To provide an insight into the legal and business issues linked to workplace transport management
To enable delegates to identify typical hazards and risks associated with workplace transport
To enable delegates to apply HSG65 principles to workplace transport management
To provide delegates with an understanding of how to undertake a "suitable and sufficient" workplace transport risk assessment
To develop delegates' understanding of active and reactive monitoring techniques within the workplace.

Who is the course intended for:
The course is designed for managerial and supervisory staff involved in controlling workplace transport issues on behalf of their organisation.

Prior knowledge:
No prior knowledge, however delegates should be routinely involved with workplace transport management issues.

Pre-course preparation:
None required

Course content:

Managing workplace transport
Developing an effective framework for managing risk
Review of HSE case studies
Applied risk assessment
Monitoring and review.

Intended outcomes:
Delegates will be issued with a RoSPA certificate of training.
