Manual Handling Trainers Re-certification
Recertification in this crucial area is necessary to prevent poor practices developing and to keep skills and knowledge up to date. This course will update and refresh your skills.
Who should attend?
Those who hold a Manual Handling Trainers certificate, but now need to re-qualify to continue training others.
Assessment:
On successful completion of the practical assessment delegates will be awarded a RoSPA Manual Handling Trainers certificate, valid for three years.
BACK-TRACK™
This course now incorporates a BACK-TRACK™ device, which is a motion-sensor, which enhances delegates learning experience.
The BACK-TRACK™ device is a small clip on device, which is worn on the belt of delegates to detect, monitor and record back motion thereby identifying posture related issues and risks.

Course objectives
This course aims to provide qualified RoSPA Manual Handling Trainers Requalification with an updated understanding of the process of instructing others in sound manual handling techniques and the process of conducting manual handling risk assessments.
On completion delegates should be able to:
- Prepare and deliver a manual handling awareness training package
- Carry out and record suitable and sufficient manual handling risk assessments
Who should attend?
This course is aimed at qualified RoSPA Manual Handling Trainers. Delegates should familiarise themselves with the Manual Handling Regulations.

- Benefits of preventing manual handling injuries
- Review of Legal requirements
- Basic anatomy
- Practical lifting techniques
- Instructional skills
- Risk assessment for manual handling
Qualification
Delegates who successfully complete the practical and written assessments will be awarded a RoSPA Manual Handling Trainers Certificate, which is valid for three years.
Successful delegates on open courses will also receive a manual handling instructor’s awareness pack.
