NEBOSH Health & Safety at Work Qualification (Level 2)
This brand new introductory qualification provides a basic understanding of health and safety principles and practices in the workplace. It covers risks and hazards across all businesses and can be taken in any country.
The NEBOSH Health & Safety at Work Qualification will help improve the safety culture in your organisation by equipping your workforce to identify and deal with hazards at work. As well as reducing accidents and incidents, it should enable your organisation to cut costs without cutting corners or compromising on safety.
The qualification is designed to meet the needs of an international audience, so there is no country-specific law included.
It is an ideal first step towards other higher level NEBOSH qualifications, including the NEBOSH International General Certificate and National General Certificate.

Aim and objectives
- To provide a basic understanding of health and safety principles and practices in the workplace.
- To provide an understanding of common risks and hazards across business sectors.
- To provide an opportunity for multi-national delegates to gain a common understanding of health and safety management techniques.
Who is the course intended for?
This qualification is an ideal first step towards other higher level NEBOSH qualifications including NEBOSH’s International General Certificate and National General Certificate. Typical people who would benefit from this qualification include
- Staff with supervisory responsibilities
- Team leaders
- Individuals who wish to have an introduction to other NEBOSH qualifications
- Individuals who want a good foundation in health and safety who have some work experience, ensuring that they can put their learning into context.
Prior knowledge:
It is not necessary for delegates to have any previous knowledge of health and safety. Students need to be proficient in written English to successfully complete the assessments.

- Electricity, hazards and controls
- Fire, hazards and controls
- Manual handling, hazards and controls
- Chemicals, hazards and controls
- Welfare and environmental issues
- Health-related hazards and controls
- Assessment phase.
