Drink-drive limit - have your say!

Drink Drive Poll - Have your say! For many years RoSPA has urged the Government to review drink drive limits and police powers for driver breath tests. The government has now announced a consultation on drink-drive laws later this year and, as ever, RoSPA will be fully involved.

The consultation will look at whether to lower the legal limit from 80mg to 50mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood, in line with European standards. It is estimated that this would save around 65 deaths every year.

Have your say is our online poll, and you could win an Award Winning on-line risk assessment for all your company drivers!

HSE’s campaign outlines dangers

Shattered LivesThe HSE's latest campaign - Shattered Lives - focuses on what can be the tragic consequences of apparently minor incidents.

Slipping, tripping and falling are the commonest causes of accidents in the UK workplace and people might be inclined to think they are not important or major. However they cause significant amounts of serious injuries such as fractures, which can greatly affect the lives of the victims.

The HSE campaign is aimed at five specific sectors - construction, building/plant maintenance, food and drink manufacture, food retail and catering/hospitality - where the problem is prevalent. However the message is really one for everyone - these accidents can shatter lives - but there are often easy things that can be done to prevent them.
