Looking for a Route to CMIOSH? |
If you, or your colleagues, would benefit from continuing your safety education to Diploma level but aren’t sure if you’d hit the mark, consider this:
' Having recently passed the exams for all three units of the new NEBOSH Diploma I can now heartily say that if I can do it then anyone can. I think that RoSPA has been brilliant and I couldn't have done it without the support of the trainers. For those of you attempting the Diploma, stick with RoSPA - they really are the best.'

The Business Case for Managing Occupational Road Risk |
The majority of safety and fleet professionals are well aware that more people are killed and injured in at-work road accidents than in all other occupational accidents put together and that health and safety law applies equally to both on-the-road activities and traditional work place activities. However, convincing senior management of the need to tackle this key issue can often prove difficult. If this is the case in your organisation then the following statistics from a Fleet News training review may help you to build your business case:
After risk assessments and/or focussed training, 100 vehicles travelling 25,000 miles per year showed:
- 26% reduction in road traffic accidents
- £330 reduction per vehicle in accident costs
- £250 reduction per vehicle in fuel costs
- £150 reduction per vehicle in maintenance costs
- £85 reduction per vehicle in insurance costs

Occupational Safety and Health Course Development Service
|
RoSPA can design a course syllabus and craft the course materials to meet a particular training requirement within your organisation. Selected members of your organisation can then carry out the training course in order to train other employees. RoSPA will deliver the initial course to the internal trainers, and will then accredit on an ongoing annual basis. This is an extremely cost-effective training solution, which means that you do not have to compromise on the quality of your internal courses even given limited budgets, awkward shift patterns and multi- locations.

Employers are legally required to ensure that they have appropriate arrangements in place to help lone workers identify, avoid or control the risks. RoSPA can assist by carrying out a comprehensive audit of the procedural arrangements for the management of lone working against current best practice and the degree to which these standards are achieved in practice. A comprehensive report will describe the current situation and a draft action plan will outline how current arrangements can be enhanced. If required, the RoSPA consultant can support the systematic implementation of the action plan.
