Open and transparent corporate reporting of a company's Health and Safety (H&S) performance within their Going Public on Performance - GoPoPannual reports, coupled with health and safety representation at board level, should be an integral part of a company's corporate responsibility strategy. However, despite this, companies' reporting of H&S performance in the UK is still extremely variable.

In response to this, RoSPA have developed a Go-PoP consultancy service, which helps companies report publicly on their policies, performance and targets.

Take a look at the GoPoP Showcase of organisations who publish a high standard of H&S information or contact a member of the consultancy team, email: consultancy@rospa.com or telephone: 0121 248 2034.

Hands Free Phones will not make Drivers SafePeople wanting to avoid picking up three points for using a hand-held mobile phone while driving should not be deceived into thinking hands-free kits are completely safe to use at the wheel.

Even though there is no specific offence relating to hands-free phones, police can check telephone records in careless driving and dangerous driving cases and use them as evidence to show someone has been distracted. It can lead to tougher sentencing because using a mobile phone while driving is likely to be viewed as an "aggravating circumstance" by the courts.

RoSPA's free guidance documents include assistance with mobile phone policies.
