This five-day QSA course can train a member of staff to become an approved auditor for your company. Road accidents involving vehicles being driven at high speed for emergency purposes have been the subject of a great deal of bad press in recent years. These headline-making incidents have called into question the training given to emergency drivers.
RoSPA recognises that many drivers already have prior learning experience and many have already received some form of additional driver training. All delegates are therefore required to undergo an initial assessment where driving skills are assessed against 12 core criteria. Any gaps in knowledge or technique will then be rectified via a personalised training programme*. The first year of the partnership between RoSPA and Stocksigns has been a great success, with the two organisations working well together and forging a strong relationship – as well as enabling them to spread the safety message to a wider audience. The partnership, formed one year ago, aims to enhance the provision of high-quality safety signs in workplaces across the country, as well as publicising the safety message to organisations everywhere.

RoSPA’s 2010 National Home Safety Congress is beginning to take shape, and will be held in Glasgow to tie in with Scotland’s Year of Home Safety – although the programme will be relevant for all UK home safety professionals. Titled “How to value home safety: quantifying the quality of life”, the event will consider different interpretations of the value of home safety -from core principles of valuing quality of life, to evaluating the effectiveness of the means by which we seek to improve it within the home.
RoSPA has developed this Emergency Driving Course in response to Section 19 of the Road Safety Act 2006, which states that any driver wishing to use the speed limit exemption must undergo compulsory training.
