Teen Safety and Risk from RoSPA

Visit our facebook groupTeen Safety and Risk from RoSPAIn 1917, RoSPA had a simple idea. By campaigning for pedestrians to face oncoming traffic and walk on the right hand side of the road, we reduced fatalities by 70%. Since then, we have campaigned, lobbied, trained and consulted on saving lives and reducing injuries, on the road, at home, in the workplace and at leisure. We are a not-for-profit organisation with charitable status and are proud to have Her Majesty the Queen as our patron.

In 2008, we appointed our first youth liaison worker, Cassius Francis. His role is to:

  • Raise the profile of RoSPA amongst young people (14-19 years) and those who work with them in schools and youth and community settings (initially in the West Midlands)
  • Enlist the help of young people to work with RoSPA to further its mission to save lives and reduce injuries in all aspects of life.

RoSPA is developing a youth network for teenagers aged 14-19 who:

  • Want to learn more about how to keep themselves safe on the road, at leisure, in the home or in the workplace
  • Want to campaign on issues of safety
  • Want to raise awareness about potential risks amongst their peers
  • Have been affected by accidents
  • Are interested in careers in a safety-related profession or a job where safety will be important.
