This course is aimed staff and management of indoor (soft play) areas. It will also be of interest to Environmental Health Officers. A training pack will be provided as well as a RoSPA Certificate of Training will be given to all participants who complete the course.

Training Pack
A training pack will be provided.
Course syllabus includes:
- Child development
- The Importance of Play
- Accidents, their type, frequency and severity
- Legal, the appropriate Acts of Parliament and how they may affect the operator and directly the management and staff
- BS8409:2002 and relevant sections of EN1176
- Documentation, reporting and importance of record keeping
- A logical and systematic approach to inspecting including risk assessment
- Inspection of approaches to main frame including signs barriers etc
- Inspection of the whole play area surround, toilets, fire exits, catering area (public) etc
- Inspection of the main frame area
- Inspection of specific play equipment or play features including floor surfacing.
- Common faults on popular items
- Fire and accident drills
- First aid provision and dealing with accidents
- Practical onsite inspection
All indoor training courses take place on client's premises.
Note: Prices listed are a daily cost for a group of up to six people with an additional cost per person thereafter, plus expenses All prices quoted are subject to VAT. It is possible for you to have your post-installation inspection on the same day, with the inspection carried out in the morning followed by an afternoon of training. Call for details.

Courses on Clients Premises
In this case the provision of a room with suitable blackout to enable PowerPoint to be shown should be provided, together with a projection screen and flip chart (RoSPA trainers can provide their own PowerPoint equipment if need be).
Access to a play frame is essential for the practical element of these courses
Please Note:
Attendees must be in good health and physically able to climb and thoroughly inspect play equipment on-site.
Prices listed are for non-RoSPA clients i.e. those who do not have RoSPA annual inspections. If you have annual playground inspections by RoSPA, you may be eligible to receive a discount against the price of a course. Contact us for details.

It is designed for staff members who have day-to-day responsibility for playground safety and inspections. This highly visual presentation is ideal for small groups up to fifteen. Basic requirements are for a comfortable room with good blackout. Access to playground for a practical site inspection is required. Course notes and a Certificate of Attendance are provided.
