Barry Wilkes

Barry Wilkes, Chairman, Director of Strategy, NEBOSH

Barry is an experienced health and safety practitioner, project developer/manager and management systems auditor. He has over 20 years' experience in health, safety and environmental management and became a Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health in 1997.

Having joined NEBOSH in 2005, Barry's role is to develop new qualifications and services and to support the Chief Executive as part of the management team in delivering the NEBOSH business strategy.

Dee Arp

Dee Arp, Director of Learning and Assessment, NEBOSH

Dee Arp is a Chartered Safety and Health Practitioner of IOSH and has had a long and varied career in the field of health and safety.

Dee is currently Director of Learning and Assessment for the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health and has a wealth of experience both as trainer and learnerfor NEBOSH assessments. Dee has also had an active role as an examiner, so she has a balanced view of the learner/ provider / examiner cycle.

Richard Booth

Professor Richard Booth, Emeritus Professor, Aston University

Richard Booth PhD, FIMechE, CEng CFIOSH, is Professor Emeritus of Occupational Safety and Health at Aston Universitu and Director of Hastam. He has published about 150 scientific papers, articles and book chapters and presented in 21 countries world-wide. He is Vice Chair of Aston’s Research Ethics Committee. Richard’s team at Aston provided post-graduate training for HSE Inspectors for 28 years. He was a member of BSI committees that drafted management system standards from BS8800: 1996 to ISO 45001: 2018.

Richard was a founder-Chair of NEBOSH and President of IOSH for two years and continues to be active in a numberof safety bodies. He has conducted research in many industries and has 30 years' expert witness experience, including the Buncefield and Port Talbot steelworks explosion cases.

Alan Brandwood

Alan Brandwood - Consultant & Past-Chair, Nuclear Industry Safety Directors Forum

Alan Brandwood has 48 years' industrial experience. For 20 years he held board positions in various high hazard, low risk businesses where his portfolio of responsibilities included environment, health, safety, security, quality, operations and HR.

For the past 7 years, Alan has been a consultant specialising in working with boards and executives on culture, continuous improvement, organisational development and regulatory matters particularly when associated with safety and regulatory matters.

John Corden

John Corden

John is a founder member of the WaterUK Occupational Health and Safety Group; for more than 10 years was the water industry representative on the CBI National H&S Panel; also a longstanding member of the National Water Safety Forum's Inland Water and Information Groups; and a judge for RoSPA's annual Occupational Health & Safety Awards.

John was a founder member of the HSE's innovative South-East Stakeholder Forum and is a board member with the HSE of the national Estates Excellence initiative. He was also founder member of the IOSH South Downs branch and is a Chartered Member of IOSH.

John retired from his role as Head of Health & Safety for Southern Water in 2018 and is now director of a business consultancy company. Current activities include acting as an expert witness in high profile H&S cases and continuing as a judge for RoSPA’s annual Occupational Health and Safety Awards.

Ann Diment
 

Ann Diment, Consultant

Ann is a Creative Leadership coach, helping businesses to transform their Health, Safety and Wellbeing programmes. As owner of 'worksafeandwell.co.uk ' Ann develops and delivers programmes promoting the creative arts to improve workplace wellbeing. She has worked across multiple sectors promoting health and wellbeing issues for all of her professional life. Ann is a graduate Biological scientist who moved into a career in Health and Safety after acting as a Trade Union H&S representative, and has held various roles throughout the Higher Education and private consultancy sectors.

A Chartered Fellow of IOSH, she has been an active volunteer for over fifteen years, holding various committee roles including chairing IOSH Scotland, and was a founding member of the IOSH Professional Standards committee. She has actively supported the Biological safety community, acting as Secretary of the Northern Biological safety officers group, organising committee roles with ISTR, and is a current accreditation assessor for the Professional Biosafety practitioner qualification. 

Ann is also a passionate advocate for positive Mental Health support and is a Time to Change Champion, supporting local and National anti-stigma campaigns and mentoring programmes. She is also an accredited EFT practitioner, running her own private coaching practice, as well as being a working artist and musician and amateur actor.

Adrian Hirst

Adrian Hirst, Occupational Hygiene Consultant and Senior Lecturer in Occupational Hygiene, University of Manchester

Adrian Hirst is a Chartered Fellow of the Faculty of Occupational Hygiene and a Chartered Member of IOSH, as well as a past president of the British Occupational Hygiene Society. He is also the honorary treasurer for the British Occupational Hygiene Society.

Bud Hudspith

Bud Hudspith, Health & Safety Adviser, Unite

Bud Hudspith has been dealing with trade union health and safety issues for over 30 years. His job is to represent Unite at various levels and provide information, advice and guidance to Unite Officials and Safety Representatives. This involves visiting workplaces and representing members in discussions with employers, as well as sitting on various committees.

Greg Irons

Dr Greg Irons, Occupational Health Physician

Dr Greg Irons is a senior Occupational Health Physician for Optima Health. He has over 25 years’ experience in Occupational Health, having begun his career providing offshore occupational health medical services to oil majors in the North Sea. Greg has a history of development and delivery of occupational health operations in challenging environments and locations. He has lived and worked internationally and with a diverse range of clients including oil and gas, utilities, local government, manufacturing and sales. He currently works in the policing and law enforcement sector.

Chris Jones

Chris Jones, Director of Risk Management and Compliance, Cory Riverside Energy

Chris Jones has worked in the waste industry for more than 30 years advising on and managing health, safety, welfare, quality, environmental and transport issues.

Neil Lennox

Neil Lennox – Head of Safety & Insurance, Sainsbury's Supermarkets

In 2014 Neil took over as Chair of the CBI Health & Safety panel and he represents CBI on the RoSPA Awards adjudication panel.

Neil has worked in the health and safety field for the past 19 years, for Air Products & Chemicals, British Airways and British Gas, before joining Sainsbury's, where he is currently Head of Safety & Insurance for Sainsbury's Supermarkets. In 2018 he also took on the role of Non-Executive Director on the Parliamentary Safety Assurance Board looking at safety across the Houses of Westminster and the Parliamentary Estate. He is a Chartered Member of IOSH and a Fellow of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers.

Darren Male

Darren Male, Director, The QUENSH Consultancy Limited

Chair of the International Dilmun Environmental Award panel, Darren is a Fellow of IEMA, Chartered Safety Practitioner and Chartered Environmentalist.

He is Director of The QUENSH Consultancy Limited, and was an advisor to Envirowise and the Environment Agency and has run several small business environmental engagement schemes.

Adrian Murphy

Dr Adrian Murphy, Director, International Synergies Limited

Adrian is one of the founding members of International Synergies. He is responsible for all of the technical and innovation issues within the business encompassing R&D and business development.

A Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, the Institute of Quality Assurance, and the Institute of Environment Management and Assessment, Adrian is also a registered Principal Environmental Auditor and a Lead Auditor with the International Register of Certified Auditors. He is also a trained practitioner of the six-sigma quality approach, and a qualified Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor and Technical Safety Practitioner.

Graham Parker

Graham Parker, CEO, ConsultSafe Ltd

As CEO of ConsultSafe Ltd, Graham is able to share his experience as a global leader within the occupational safety and health world with over 25 years’ experience in a variety of high and low risk environments in both private and public sectors. His background in health and safety includes strategic OSH management for real estate, FM, logistics, aviation and general health and safety management sectors. 

Graham is a Trustee of RoSPA, Fellow and Past President of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), Fellow of the International Institute of Risk Safety Management (IIRSM), Professional Member of The American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP), International Member of the Canadian Society of Safety Engineers (CSSE), Certified Member of Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (IWFM) while also being one of the leading RoSPA Awards Excellence Ambassadors.  Through his work with various organisations, Graham has been able to engage on a global platform with world and organizational leaders including the ILO, WHO, ISSA and governments across the world.

Yasser Al Abbasi

Yasser A. Al Abbasi, General Manager Manufacturing, Gulf Petrochemical Industries Co. (GPIC)

Yasser is a Deputy Chairman of Bahrain Health and Safety Society and a Member of Supreme Council of Occupational Safety and Health of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain. He also serves as a judge for the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA's) International Dilmun Environment Award, as well as an Assessor for the National Safety Council's Robert W. Campbell (RWC) Awards since 2009.

Steve Sumner

Steve Sumner OBE, Director, Steve Sumner Associates Ltd

Steve Sumner originally trained as an Environmental Health Officer, but made the move into health and safety very early in his career, firstly as a Local Government health and safety inspector, and finally as a health and safety policy leader for England with the local Government Association.

He was awarded the OBE, the RoSPA Distinguished Service Award and IOSH outstanding contribution to health and safety in the public sector.

Ben Vivian

Dr Ben Vivian, Director, Vivian Partnership

Dr Ben Vivian is a Fellow of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment and has more than 20 years’ experience in the sustainability area. Ben is Assistant Professor in Sustainability and Environmental Management at Coventry University where he is currently Course Director of the MSc in Sustainability and Environmental Management. In the past 2 years, he has worked as Convenor of an ISO working group developing a new standard on the assurance of environmental reports and a member of a UN SDG Task Group. He has worked in a range of roles, in research, in-company, as a consultant, verifier and management systems auditor. Ben has delivered training and coached professionals on five continents.
