Teachers, Schools and Youth Associations
Our main focus has been to enable teachers and others who give water safety messages a forum to work together, to improve review and develop joint approaches.
Networks and groups
LASER Alliance – Learning About Safety by Experiencing Risk centres and events provide opportunities for families and young people to explore safety messages and scenarios in practical, real-world settings.
The RoSPA National Safety in Education Committee (NSEC) Considers the both the management of risk, and teaching safety education within schools and colleges.
You can find out more about these groups and our approach to safety and risk education in our Schools and Colleges pages.
RUADummy2? Is a video and education pack primarily for teachers and youth groups with the aim of exploring risk, consequence and promotes strategies and alternatives in order to be safer in and around water.
Our water safety for children and young people pages contain advice, downloads and topics to discuss with children. The pages highlight what flags and water safety signs to look out for, rescue methods and a water safety quiz.
We also have a range of printed leaflets and paid for resources that you can order.
Our advice for parents’ page outlines some of the freely available waters safety information, videos and work packs.
School talks and presentations
Unfortunately, we have limited resources to support talks and in school presentations. Members of the LASER network are able to provide this. You can find out who your local champion is via the website.
