The Technical & Administrative Training Institute (TATI), based in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman is the sole contract supplier of Defensive Driving Training Provider (DDTP) to Petroleum Development Oman (PDO). PDO is renowned throughout the Gulf and wider Middle East for its uncompromising stance on HSE standards, including their innovative approach to road safety.
Why TATI chose RoSPA
TATI chose RoSPA as their accreditation supplier for several reasons including its charitable organisation status, global safety brand and for being renowned as an internationally respected safety training organisation.
RoSPA's greatly respected accreditation scheme provides impartial and independent quality assurance and advice, offers an invaluable 'stamp of approval' to your course and demonstrates your high standards with an accreditation certificate.
An experienced RoSPA accreditor will assess the training course in action, as well as reviewing the syllabus and training materials. Having your course affiliated with the widely-recognised and prestigious RoSPA brand will deliver a wealth of benefits to your organisation, such as positive PR opportunities, and may well produce the added benefit of winning new business.
Rick Wood, the Head of Driver Training, and Alan Timms, one of RoSPA's senior examiners, spent a week auditing TATI to see if they could meet the high standard required to become a RoSPA-accredited training institute.
The scheme proved to be an overwhelming success, with TATI achieving RoSPA accreditation and several trainers being awarded the RoSPA National Diploma in Advanced Driving Instruction – adding to the organisations growing list of quality assured trainers.
What TATI have to say
"I am very proud of the latest recruits
"Our people have to be of a high calibre to be accredited by PDO to train on their contract. Hamed Al-Esry, PDO's Contract Holder for TATI's training activity, works closely with us to ensure only the very best training is delivered to the PDO and contractor community, whose duties entail driving on both blacktop and graded roads in light and heavy vehicles, as well as buses and tankers. Hamed will not accept second best and neither will TATI.
"My Training Manager, Mark Burgess, has done a great job in preparing the trainers for the RoSPA examinations and in ensuring TATI was ready for this accreditation. On a personal level, I am also very pleased to have been appointed as one of Oman's RoSPA Examiners. I see this as another positive development for TATI as a whole."
Jeremy Fox, Head of Defensive Driving and PDO Contract Manager, TATI.
Alan Timms will return to Oman in the near future to examine another batch of new trainers and Jeremy Fox is confident they will join their colleagues on the growing list of TATI's RoSPA-accredited staff.
