What is the RoSPA Banksman Skills course?

Every year, more than 5,000 people are injured in accidents involving workplace transport. Nearly a quarter of all deaths involving vehicles at work occur during reversing. By attending this course it will help your organisation have a safer workplace for your staff and visitors.

This one day Banksman Duties training course ensures that an organisation meets its obligations to provide training for those involved in the safe guidance of Large Goods Vehicles and reduces the risk of accidents when carrying out common reversing manoeuvres.

The Award is designed to evaluate delegates' understanding of the role and responsibilities of the Banksman. Assessments include a number of activities that involve delegates in identifying and explaining key legal, health and safety requirements, conducting a dynamic risk assessment and demonstrating hand signals as defined by the Health and Safety Executive.
