An evening at the RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards led to a security giant getting on its bike to fundraise for us.

Watching the Save A Life Someday video before tucking into his dinner inspired Securitas UK’s Phil Thomas to pick up the phone to our fundraising team when he returned to his Wellingborough base.

Less than four months later, the Tour of Securitas was underway, kicking off in Livingston on September 8, 2014.

The week-long tour wended its way across 21 UK offices, finishing at Securitas’ head office in Uxbridge.

Staff clocked up a total of 2,667 miles across the week on static bikes, which included a personal challenge by Wakefield branch’s Ben Straker, who managed an impressive solo 100 miles.

RoSPA staff also popped along to events in Belfast, Livingston, Birmingham and Wellingborough to add their support; racking up a few miles on the bikes and sampling some of the tasty treats Securitas staff had baked to raise funds for our charity.

The Tour raised over £3000 for our life-saving work. You can read more about how the week went on our campaign officer's blog.
