Mental health first aid

Create a supportive environment by building a network of mental health first aiders

What is the mental health first aid course?

Mental health first aid courses will teach you to spot earlier signs and symptoms of common mental health problems, such as anxiety and depression and stress. Our courses are delivered in accordance with the Mental Health First Aid England guidelines by our specialist facilitators who have experience of training specifically in the workplace.

Why take the mental health first aid course?

The HSE states that in 2018/19 602,000 workers suffer from work-related stress, depression or anxiety (new or long-standing), which equates to 12.8 million working days lost.

Our Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training courses will teach your workers how to spot the symptoms of mental health issues, as well as offer initial help and guide a person towards support. These courses are all about teaching you to listen, reassure and respond, even in a crisis and potentially stop a crisis from happening.

The HSE states that it is recommended that if you work in a company with 5-50 workers, there should be at least one person training in mental health first aid. You should then need another first-aider for every 50 workers after that.
