Workplace transport risk assessment

Providing insight into hazards and risks associated with workplace transport

What is a workplace transport risk assessment?

According to HSE statistics a total of 147 workers were killed at work in Great Britain in 2018/19. A workplace transport injury is also likely to be fatal, with over a quarter of fatal injuries to workers involving workplace transport.

The workplace transport risk assessment training course provides delegates with an understanding of the issues involved in the effective management of workplace transport. The course aims to provide an insight into the legal and business issues linked to workplace transport management as well as identifying typical hazards and risks associated with workplace transport.

The course also enables delegates to apply HSG65 principles to workplace transport management, providing an understanding of how to undertake a "suitable and sufficient" workplace transport risk assessment.

The course is designed for managerial and supervisory staff involved in controlling workplace transport issues on behalf of their organisation.

Why conduct a workplace transport risk assessment?

The principle purpose of carrying out a workplace transport risk assessment is to reduce risk. The process forms part of the overall legal duties for employers and persons in control of places of work to conduct a risk assessment on all activities that introduce risk.
