Behavioural Safety

Practical guidance on instigating a sustainable change in workplace behaviour

What is meant by behavioural safety?

Research has shown that up to 80% of work related accidents are caused by employees' behaviour. Behavioural safety is the name given to a number of types of programmes that aim to improve an organisation’s safety culture by changing the behaviour of workers. It is also called 'behavioural modification' or 'behaviour based safety'.

What is the Behavioural Safety course?

Understanding errors, whether violations, mistakes or lapses and how they combine with other workplace factors is key to improving health and safety management. This two-day course will provide delegates with practical guidance on instigating a sustainable change in workplace behaviour.

Why is behavioural safety important?

When implemented correctly, a behaviour based safety program can provide positive rewards to change unsafe behaviour, reduce job-related injuries, minimise lost production hours and improve workplace morale.

Who can take the Behavioural Safety course?

This workplace behaviour course is for those seeking a clear and practical understanding of how effective behaviour change can be achieved to promote a positive health and safety culture.

"The course was run in a very professional manner but in a way that made it enjoyable. The trainer created a happy learning environment."
