Providing employees with an understanding of their health and safety responsibilities
Under the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974, employers have a duty to protect the health, safety and welfare of their employees as well as others affected by their business (including homeworkers, part-time and temporary staff).
The Health and Safety Executive states that 28.2 million working days have been lost in recent years due to work-related illness and workplace injury. It’s therefore vital that employers understand their health and safety responsibilities and do whatever is reasonably practicable to achieve good workplace health and safety.
As an employee, you are responsible for your own wellbeing and that of your colleagues who may be affected by your actions. You must also co-operate with employers and co-workers to help everyone meet their legal requirements.
This one-day course is designed to improve health and safety standards within an organisation, by providing employees with an understanding of their health and safety responsibilities and raising awareness of common workplace hazards and their control measures. It is aimed at all levels within an organisation and covers a broad range of areas which would be suitable for front line workers, supervisors and managers.
