Journals Artworker/Designer
Full-time (35 hours), based in Birmingham
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents has been at the heart of safety and health in the UK since 1916. Since our early days improving road safety during the black-outs of the First World War, we have existed for a simple reason – to stop the needless loss and devastation caused by accidents. A registered charity, we are committed to continuing this legacy of change through a whole-life approach to the prevention of accidental deaths and serious injuries at home, at work, on the road, at leisure and in schools and colleges.
We are seeking an experienced and committed Artworker/Designer to produce high quality artwork and page layout for three of our membership journals – the flagship RoSPA Occupational Safety and Health Journal (monthly), the RoSPA Occupational Safety and Health Bulletin (monthly) and Safety Express (bi-monthly).
Working closely with the journals’ editors as part of a small team, the successful candidate will be expected to produce engaging editorial pages to brief and to deadline, and will have responsibility for producing print-ready high-res PDFs and checking final printer’s proofs. There will also be the opportunity to undertake other in-house design jobs as required, for example the production of promotional material.
Applicants must be fully PC and MAC literate and highly skilled in the use of industry software applications including Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat) and Microsoft Office.
