The RoSPA Level 2 Award in Defensive Driving (International) aims to develop the learner's knowledge of the causes of work-related driving incidents and provide them with the skills and knowledge to reduce the likelihood of being involved in an incident on the road.

This driving qualification has been developed specifically for the international market to the same standard of assessment as regulated UK qualifcations.* The qualification has a flexible approach to ensure it meets local needs and legislation.

The award is suitable for anyone who is required to regularly drive as part of their work. It would also be suitable to meet driver training standards required in the oil and gas industry.

All course delivery teams should hold the RoSPA Level 3 Award in Behavioural Driver Training (International) or equivalent.

Learners will be assessed through:

  • Practical demonstration and observation
  • Question and answers

Please note that a video recording device which can also capture audio for recorded discussion will be required to record learners when completing their assessments.

According to the Word Health Organization, road traffic injuries caused an estimated 1.35million deaths worldwide in 2016, with some of the highest fatality rates being recorded in Russia and Middle Eastern countries.

More people are killed or injured in at-work road accidents than in all other workplace accidents put together, so defensive driving skills are essential for at work drivers to reduce their risk of being involved in an accident.
