Fully Enclosed Play Operation & Management

This course is aimed at staff and management of indoor (soft play) areas. It will also be of interest to Environmental Health Officers. A RoSPA Certificate of Training will be given to all participants who complete the course.

Course syllabus includes:

  • Child development
  • The Importance of Play
  • Accidents, their type, frequency and severity
  • Legal, the appropriate Acts of Parliament and how they may affect the operator and directly the management and staff
  • BS8409:2002 and relevant sections of EN1176
  • Documentation, reporting and importance of record keeping
  • A logical and systematic approach to inspecting including risk assessment
  • Inspection of approaches to main frame including signs barriers etc
  • Inspection of the whole play area surround, toilets, fire exits, catering area (public) etc
  • Inspection of the main frame area
  • Inspection of specific play equipment or play features including floor surfacing.
  • Common faults on popular items
  • Fire and accident drills
  • First aid provision and dealing with accidents
  • Practical onsite inspection

Courses on Clients Premises

The provision of a room is required with suitable blackout to enable a PowerPoint presentation to be shown. Access to an indoor play facility is required for the practical element of this course.

Please Note:

Attendees must be in good health and physically able to climb and thoroughly inspect equipment onsite.

Note: The course is charged as a group session for up to 12 people
