Consultation Responses

RoSPA regularly responds to opportunities for consultation from government agencies and we publish the responses on our website. Here you can read what we have said recently about safety and risk education in PSHE education and other areas of the curriculum. We believe that the evidence supports the view that safety and risk education should be part of a comprehensive approach to Personal, Social and Health education across all key stages, as well as being included in some specific curriculum areas where appropriate. We believe all children and young people are entitled to high quality safety education and that to achieve this, safety education should be a statutory part of the curriculum for all schools.

We also believe unintended injury is a major public health issue for children and young people and would like to see a greater emphasis on injury prevention for children and young people in health and education strategies.
