RoSPA’s landmark Safety Summit to drive innovation and collaboration in the GCC
RoSPA is hosting an exclusive event in Dubai this September to convene safety leaders and shape the conversation about health and safety challenges in the GCC region.
The Safety Summit 2025, held in partnership with NEBOSH, will take place on September 24 in the United Arab Emirates.
Health and safety professionals, senior leaders, RoSPA partners and Award winners are warmly invited to the one-day gathering to hear presentations from world-class speakers and contribute to the discussion on how to deal with the region’s most pressing health and safety issues - from building resilience against extreme heat to preparing for future GCC regulations.
Attendees will be able to hear the latest best practice and real-life case studies and connect with the safety leadership community, from informal networking to thought-provoking panel debates.
The Summit’s keynote speech will be given by globally recognised authority on the environment, sustainability, health and safety, and governance, Dr. Waddah S. Ghanem Al Hashmi, on the evolution of HSE leadership in the GCC.
Mr Mohamed Khalil Alsaeed, Director of Safety, Health, Fire and Security at ALBA, will give a speech on climate resilience and worker wellbeing, explaining how to protect workers from extreme heat, flooding and environmental hazards and discussing the company’s achievements and good practice.
RoSPA’s Chief Executive, Becky Hickman, will give a talk on road risk in the OSH sustainability agenda, looking at how integrating road safety into sustainability strategies protects workers, strengthens resilience and delivers commercial and societal value.
Giving a presentation on leadership strategies for high-risk industries, Dee Arp, Chief Quality Officer at NEBOSH, will explore how to cultivate a culture of safety and care and the pivotal role senior leaders play in establishing safety as a core organisational value.
In addition to speeches, there will be three panel discussions through the day, tackling some of the key topics in the world of health and safety: The first centres on women in safety, offering inspiring stories, practical strategies and looking at the importance of inclusive leadership in shaping safer workplaces for all; the second focuses on protecting fleet drivers, highlighting how investing in safe driving standards reduces occupational road risk; and the third explores the real impact of winning a RoSPA Award and how it can inspire and strengthen organisations.
Becky Hickman, RoSPA’s Chief Executive, said: “We’re proud to have brought together an exceptional programme of thought-leaders for the Safety Summit 2025 - individuals whose insights are shaping safety culture across the GCC and beyond. From global experts in climate resilience and governance to senior leaders driving innovation in high-risk industries, the depth and diversity of experience represented at this event is truly remarkable. This is a unique opportunity to learn from those at the forefront of occupational safety and health, and I warmly encourage professionals from all sectors to join us in Dubai.”
