Child Safety in the Home

Children under the age of five years are more at risk from an accident in the home than anywhere else. Many of these accidents are preventable. Developed specifically to address this issue, our course focuses on the most common types of home accidents affecting this age group and their prevention.

Aims and objectives

To develop delegates' skills in promoting safer home environments for children, by developing skills and knowledge in:

  • The importance and need for home safety
  • Recognising who is most at risk from home accidents and why
  • The causes, consequences and related costs of home accidents
  • Accident prevention measures and methods of assessing, prioritising and controlling risk
  • Effective interventions and how to evaluate them

Who is the course intended for?
