This course is aimed at those who are responsible for the inspection and maintenance of wheeled sports facilities (which include BMX, skateboarding, and inline skating features). It can also be tailored to accommodate facility designers and manufacturers with different levels of experience. (BMX dirt tracks are not included).

This course is aimed at those who are responsible for the inspection and maintenance of wheeled sports facilities (which include BMX, skateboarding, and inline skating features). It can also be tailored to accommodate facility designers and manufacturers with different levels of experience. (BMX dirt tracks are not included).
A RoSPA Certificate of Training will be given to all participants who complete the course. It is a half day course and is held on clients' premises.
Due to the practical aspects of this course and possible inclement weather, please wear appropriate clothing.

Syllabus
- Child/ Young person development
- The Importance of Play/ Recreation
- Accidents, their type, frequency and severity
- Legislation, the appropriate Acts of Parliament and how they may affect the operator and directly the inspector.
- BS PAS 35 and relevant sections of EN1176
- Outline of pr EN14974, where it differs from PAS 35
- Documentation, reporting and importance of record keeping
- A logical and systematic approach to inspecting
- Risk assessment of wheeled sports areas including skateboarding, inline skating and BMX
- Inspection of approaches to wheeled sports areas including signs & road barriers
- Inspection of the nearby wheeled sports surroundings, i.e. shrubbery and gates
- Inspection of the active wheeled sports area within the fenced surround such as seats, litter bins, vegetation, lighting, and non-play items
- Inspection of specific wheeled sports equipment or features including surfacing
- Common faults on popular items
- Practical onsite inspection

Courses on Clients Premises
The provision of a room is required with suitable blackout to enable a PowerPoint presentation to be shown. Access to a wheeled sports facility is required for the practical element of this course and it is the client's responsibility to provide the necessary transportation to and from the sites
