What is the Level 2 Award in Advanced Driving?
This four day Level 2 Award in Advanced Driving course aims to help qualified drivers to develop their existing skills and learn new techniques, either in preparation for the RoSPA Advanced Driving Test, which is included on the last day of the course, or simply to drive to a higher standard.
The course focuses on the principles of ‘Roadcraft: The Police Driver’s Handbook’ and the RoSPA ‘Advanced Car Test Guidelines’. By focusing on enhanced handling skills, raising situational awareness and developing positive driving behaviours it can reduce your risk of being involved in an accident or incident on the road.
Why take the Level 2 Award in Advanced Driving?
According to the Department for Transport figures, in 2019, there were 25,945 seriously injured casualties in reported road traffic accidents. By increasing the number of advanced drivers on the road, we can help organisations and individuals to reduce the number of driving related accidents and near misses by developing higher levels of knowledge and skills.
Advanced drivers are more observant and better at anticipating changes in the surrounding conditions. As an advanced driver you will also be able to anticipate and control situations to reduce your accident risk and drive safely and effectively in all conditions.
