What is a NEBOSH certificate?

The NEBOSH certificates are the most popular health and safety qualifications around the world join the hundreds of thousands of people, who are saving the lives of their colleagues and members of the public. The NEBOSH's Certificate-level qualifications provide an excellent foundation in health and safety for managers, supervisors and people starting out on a career in health and safety.

What does a NEBOSH certificate give you?

Holders of a NEBOSH certificate can apply for technical membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (Tech IOSH). Many students then progress to the NEBOSH National Diploma (Grad IOSH) and from there to chartered status (CMIOSH).

NEBOSH certification also demonstrates the seriousness with which an organisation views safety to its stakeholders and its customers. It ensures that managers and senior staff have a sound understanding of the principles of risk management which they can use to build an effective safety culture.

A NEBOSH certificate provides further understanding of health and safety legislation, to enable delegates to monitor safety performance in their workplace, investigate accidents effectively and assist in the design and implementation of safe systems of work and accident prevention programmes.

What level is a NEBOSH certificate?

A RQF construction certificate is SQF Level 7 which is equivalent to a Level 4.

Does a NEBOSH certificate expire?

Once an applicant has successfully completed all units of a certificate in health and safety, they are safe in the knowledge that their qualification will last forever. However learners must complete those same units within a five-year period.
