What does the NEBOSH International General Certificate Course cover?

 

IG1: Management of health and safety

Health and safety management systems: Participants learn about the various systems and processes used in managing health and safety in the workplace

This unit is assessed by an open book exam that you will have 24 hours to complete. The exam will have set questions based on a realistic scenario provided by NEBOSH.

IG2: Risk assessment

Physical and psychological health: Participants learn about the physical and psychological wellbeing of employees, understanding the factors that can impact their health and safety

Chemical and biological agents: Delegates are educated about the hazards posed by chemical and biological agents in the workplace and how to manage and control these risks

Work equipment: Participants gain an understanding of the safety aspects related to work equipment and machinery in the workplace

Electricity: Delegates learn about the safe use and management of electrical systems and equipment in the workplace

Musculoskeletal health: This section focuses on the musculoskeletal health of employees, which is particularly important in workplaces with physical demands

Fire safety: Fire safety is a crucial component of health and safety and this section provides in-depth knowledge of fire prevention, protection and emergency response

This unit is assessed by a three-hour practical assessment completed on a real life workplace.
