What does the NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety Course cover?
The course is divided into two units:
Unit FSC1: Managing fire safety
Principles of fire and explosion: Understand the fundamental principles of how fires and explosions occur, equipping you with the knowledge to mitigate these risks
Fire protection of buildings: Explore methods and strategies for safeguarding buildings against fire hazards
Fuel, oxygen and ignition sources: Learn to identify and control the key elements that lead to fires, ensuring the safety of your workplace
Safety of people in the event of a fire: Develop an understanding of how to protect individuals during a fire emergency.
Unit FSC2: Fire Safety Risk Assessment
Fire safety risk assessment: Practical application of the knowledge acquired in Unit FSC1 to conduct a fire risk assessment.
The post course open book exam for Unit one is completed online. You will have 24 hours from 11am (UK time) on exam day to complete and submit your exam paper. Unit two is a practical fire risk assessment based on a workplace and needs to be submitted by email.
You must complete all units within five years to achieve the full NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety qualification.
