Brighter Beginnings Appeal

Accidents are the biggest killer of children and young people.

Yet they don't have to happen.

In 2016/17 we're celebrating 100 years of past successes, whilst looking to the future by focusing strongly on keeping kids safe.

With this in mind, we've designed a Keeping Kids Safe pack, full of helpful tips and tools to help give little ones a safer start.

Our vision is to provide free packs for new parents. But in order to do this, we need your help. It's simple. The more money we manage to raise, the more Keeping Kids Safe packs we can provide to families - meaning a better chance of Brighter Beginnings!

Why donate?

Less than a third of parents think they get enough advice and information to protect their little ones from accidental harm

Our Keeping Kids Safe packs aim to fill this gap by providing vital life-saving advice, tips and tools, including a cupboard lock, a blind cord cleat, a printed bath sponge, and a full colour height chart, printed with advice including preventing fires, avoiding falls, preventing drowning and avoiding burns and scalds
Each pack also includes details for Lifeline, our free telephone and email enquiry service, which gives parents the peace of mind that we're here for them now - and at any point in the future
Our positive can-do messages empower parents to better face the challenges of looking after the new addition to their family

Distributed via our network of community midwives, health visitors and Children's Centres, our messages will directly reach parents via a source they know and trust
We can make a real difference by focusing our attention on the most disadvantaged areas first, where accident rates are significantly higher.

Show your support for 24/7 safety. Staff will have access to Lifeline, our free email and telephone helpline. Manned by experienced advisers able to answer a vast range of safety enquiries, it's a great place to turn when you need answers.
