Lord Jordan of Bournville Trophy

In 1954, the late Sir George Earle delivered an address to the National Industrial Safety Conference on the importance of competition, achievement and reward. He donated a silver Victorian Inkstand trophy bearing his name, for annual competition.  The Sir George Earle trophy was subsequently presented between 1956 and 2025.

The original trophy continues to be awarded each year.  From 2026, it has been renamed the Lord Jordan of Bournville Trophy to mark both the 70th anniversary of the RoSPA Awards and the 90th birthday year of RoSPA’s Life President, Lord Jordan of Bournville.

The Trophy is the highest accolade in the RoSPA Awards, with its winner chosen from amongst the highest-performing Sector Award winners, and a focus on creating a lasting legacy of success with those who win it.
