What is #OSHtober?
#OSHtober is RoSPA's annual month-long workplace safety campaign which runs throughout October. Each year RoSPA focuses on a specific topic which highlights the devastating impacts that workplace accidents and ill health can have.
This year #OSHtober will raise awareness of the dangers associated with moving and handling (specifically around MSDs) with a ‘back’ to basics overview covering best practice, legal compliance and improved health.
Why moving and handling?
Moving and handling is one of the most common causes of injury at work and causes over a third of all workplace injuries which include work related Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs).
Organisations have a duty of care to make sure their employees are equipped with the correct training, resources and knowledge to limit their exposure to poor health related to moving and handing in and around the workplace.
